My hack: Since this is a radical, I prefer to stick with a meaning that is really clear and easy to remember. That’s why I prefer to think of this as an elbow. That way I have a clear mental image I can use in future kanji, as opposed to the notion of privacy which doesn’t do much for my memory.
The other easy way to remember it is as the katakana ム.
To remember it as “elbow,” imagine a stick figure lifting weights. (See option C below).
