My hack: To me this kanji looks like the Hawaiian petroglyphs of “rainbow man,” minus the rainbow, of course. I imagine him to be like the “Renaissance man” who is into all kinds of art and literature.
It also looks like a side view of a picnic table, which is something you might see in a drawing or plan for building your own table.
